The desk at the Nature center, drawers open and still containing many file folders full of documents...as if they had left in a hurry.

ABANDONED PLACES - This is a serene shot of the once bustling swimming lake in Washington Lake Park, on Chapel Heights Rd. in Sewell , NJ. Once a lovely place to bring the family for a day of sun, sand and swimming and learning about local nature in the Nature Center...a decline in visitors to the lake (no doubt due to the Kandle Swim Club that opened about a mile away) forced them to close down. It is now abandoned and in serious disrepair due to heavy vandalism. It is a shame because the lake is gorgeous. I used to love this place on a summers day.
